Astrology is a highly developed art founded upon strong principles. Carl Jung (famed Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist who founded analytical psychology took a profound interest in the subject) went on record stating that “”Astrology is assured of recognition from psychology, without further restrictions, because astrology represents that summation, of all the psychological knowledge of antiquity.”

Modern psychology is actually founded upon ancient astrology just as modern science is rooted in astrology and alchemy. In the past, all medics were required to be qualified astrologers and many today still appreciate the connection between celestial bodies and human behavior. Just as medicine is now forced to once again recognize the validity of alternative and ancient healing modalities, it is time to consider the application of astrology to areas such as crime prevention.

A Gallup survey revealed that 35% of Americans believe that the planets have an impact upon their lives.

Many people have believed for thousands of years that the fortunes of men and women are subject to cycles. However, in the past it was challenging to explain and scientifically validate this belief. As science advances so too does our understanding of planetary cycles and their impact upon worldly events and human life. We know for sure that cycles of the sun and moon govern the oceans. Hurricane Sandy was more catastrophic than other hurricanes as it occurred at the time of a full moon. We are now aware that life on earth is not disconnected from planetary cycles in our solar system – there is a proven interconnectedness that requires much further exploration. As human beings are approximately 80% water, why would they not be somehow affected by the Moon which clearly governs the oceans?

J.P Morgan’s astrologer, Evangeline Adams, described a judge’s daughter from her natal chart during a trial. The judge was so impressed with the accuracy of Adams’ interpretation that he dismissed fortune telling charges against her stating that

“Adams raises the dignity of astrology to an exact science.”

Newton was an avid believer in astrology just as Kepler used horoscopes to validate his successful predictions about weather and wars.

A psychologist named Arnold Lieber at the University of Miami verified that the Full Moon is associated with increasing lunacy. His team reviewed data associated with 1,887 homicides for Dade County (Miami) over a 15 year period. Lieber found that the homicide rate increased and decreased in line with the phases of the moon. Murder rates did indeed rise at the time of the full and new moons whilst decreasing during the moon’s first and last quarters.
